OPEN DEANERY SYNOD MEETING

The next meeting of the Deanery Synod will take place on Monday 18th July 7.30pm at St. Mary’s Parish House, Castle Road, Scarborough, YO11 1TH. This meeting is open to all. The first instalment of the Living Christ’s Story Deanery Plan will be introduced at that meeting.

Welcome to Bishop Ellie
In case you missed it, 10 Downing Street announced on 29th June that Her Majesty the Queen has approved the appointment of the Rt Revd Dr Eleanor Sanderson as Suffragan Bishop of Hull in the Diocese of York, following the retirement of the Rt Revd Alison White.

Her inauguration details to follow. 

Dr Eleanor Sanderson has been Assistant Bishop of Wellington in the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia since 2017. For more information, click on the link:

CHURCH OPEN

Just a reminder St Nicholas Church will be open to visitors to be able to look around and view the interior of the church April 15th to October 22nd. Opening hours will be 10.00am to 4.00pm MON TO SAT and 11.00 am to 5.00pm SUNDAY.  We hope as many of you as possible will be able to visit and bring your friends. Many thanks to all the helpers who kindly work the opening and closing rota.

SPRING CAFE 

WEEK COMMENCING 18th JULY

Monday 18th  

From 9.30am Hun-Free Fridge in Spring café

Café open 1.00pm till 3.00pm Knit and natter, plus board games & chat - Tea and cake available. Plus Games afternoon. & S.W.O.R.D. afternoon tea served at 2pm

Tuesday 19th

9.30am for 9.45am start: Come and listen to a group of Hunmanby Primary School students read their stories from a history project they completed this term. 

Café open from 10.00am—2.00pm

1.30pm The square dancing group will meet 

Wednesday 20th

Café open 10.00am - 2.00pm Drinks and cakes available - CAMEO meal is 12noon onwards. Set price of £5.50 for 2-course meal,  with “FORGET-ME-NOT” lunch gathering from 11.30am - a dementia-friendly event. 

Friday 22nd 

Café open 9.00am—1.00pm 

12noon Community meal in Spring café— a  minimum donation of £3 would help towards covering costs—thank you. 

from 1.45pm Hun-Free Fridge (Free food for all to avoid it going to waste) 

Saturday 23rd  

Spring café closed.

 

9.30am Prayers in church (and church open for prayer till 12noon - IF we have a rota of church sitters.)

HUN-FREE COMMUNITY FRIDGE:  (Please note - each session will close when all the food has gone)

HunFree the Hunmanby Community Fridge will operate on Monday morning from 9.30am and Friday afternoon from 1.45pm on 10th June when tea/coffee will be available. 

12noon Every Friday in the Spring cafe - Community Meal. Further information of all cafe activities can be found on the church website or Spring cafe Facebook page.
