Vicar's Newsletter for 23rd August

Dear all,

A reminder that face coverings are now required by law to be worn in places of worship.

Due to social distancing measures none of the Benefice churches is large enough to host a Benefice service on fifth Sundays of the month.  Details of services below.
'A new email scam is targeting members of the church office with emails imitating local church reverends, asking individuals to purchase gift cards and vouchers:
We’re aware of a number of reports from churches within the Diocese of York, but these scammers are also operating nationally. They are well-researched and find the correct names to pose under before sending their communications to church wardens, treasurers and other volunteers.
If you receive an email of this nature, report it to North Yorkshire Police by calling 101.
❗️If in any doubt about the legitimacy of an email, check the sender’s address and if it is claiming to be someone you know, call them to verify if they have sent it. Be very wary of email communications asking you to make purchases or pay money.'
Please note that Holy Communion will only be received by the congregation in one kind (bread/wafer only). You are asked to follow the direction of a churchwarden/sidesperson and when you receive please return to your seat before removing your face covering to consume. Communion will be administered whilst standing. Kneeling at the communion rail is suspended.

The deadline for the holding of APCMs this year has been extended by a further month to 30th November.

Here is the All Saints Hunmanby website link in blue for Sunday morning - The service will be available anytime on Sunday.
SUNDAY 23rd AUGUST AUDIO SERVICE -   You will find the service in three parts and no need to search for worship songs as these are already included in the service.
Please note that as some of our churches are open for Sunday worship, our live-streamed service of Morning Prayer will be available on WEDNESDAYS ONLY at 9.00am.
A free phone line of hymns, reflections and prayers. Provided by the Church of England. Tel.  0800 804 8044

Spring Café open from 10.00am - 2.00pm on Mondays to Wednesdays each week as a take-away service only. When things return to some kind of new normal, the plan is to open the café again for sit-in drinks and meals. We have no idea when this might be possible.

The cafe door accessed from the churchyard will be the only one open.

My day off this week will be Friday.
If for any reason you prefer not to be included in this mailing please just send me an email and I will remove yours from the list. Many thanks.
Every blessing,
Revd Tim Parker
